Instagram New Follower Automation Not Sending

This is a known issue with the new follower trigger. The problem is that ManyChat's follow-to-DM feature uses a non-public Meta API endpoint that's unstable and breaks frequently.

A few things to check:

  1. Make sure you have advanced Instagram permissions enabled

  2. Check Instagram Settings → Apps and Websites → see if ManyChat shows "Expired"

  3. Try refreshing permissions in ManyChat

But honestly, a lot of users report it works for a few days/weeks then stops. ManyChat support usually says it's a Meta-side issue.

This new feature that allows you to send an automated message to those who follow your account. However, there are some “rules” that could prevent your automation not been sent.

These are the rules:

• The Follow to DM automation triggers only once per follower. (If someone unfollows and then follows again, it won’t run a second time.)
• Meta allows only one Follow to DM message per user per week. (If a person follows multiple accounts using this feature, they’ll receive a message only from the first account they followed.)

This could be the reason why your automation is not been sent.
