Instagram Post Restrictions Disabling Manychat Automations

The restriction itself isn't applied the same way across accounts, even when the post content looks similar. Meta weighs things like account history and type, not just the post, so two accounts can get visually similar restrictions but different automation outcomes.

That also means comparing posts in incognito doesn't really tell you much, you're only seeing the restriction, not whether their account has Instagram messaging access enabled or current permissions with Manychat, which is what actually determines if the trigger fires.

I'd check those two things on your end first:

1. Refresh permissions in Manychat (Help → Refresh Permissions)
2. Confirm Instagram messaging access is enabled for the account

If both are fine and it's still not triggering, that's a case for Support since Meta's restriction logic isn't something we can see or change from here.

The accounts of the competitors I mentioned have their automations working on both age-restricted and non-restricted posts. Mine, however, only works on posts that have not been subject to this age restriction.

I know this because I can see ManyChat automatically replying to comments on their restricted posts, and I personally tested it by commenting on one of those posts and requesting the link of the products. It worked normally.

On all of my posts that have not been restricted, the automations are working normally. Therefore, I don’t believe this is related to ManyChat permissions or any Instagram settings. Could I be missing something or be mistaken about this?

That's fair, if your non-restricted posts trigger fine, it's probably not a permissions issue on your end.

This is more likely something Meta is doing differently between accounts on the restriction side, not a Manychat setting. We can't see that from here though, so I'd take exactly what you just told me back to Support, restricted posts work for competitors but not for you, that's a much better comparison than what you gave them originally.
