Hi everyone,

I'm hoping someone from the ManyChat team or the community can help because I'm stuck after reconnecting Instagram.

Here's what happened:

  1. I wanted to enable the new "Say Hi to New Followers" feature.

  2. ManyChat asked me to update Instagram permissions.

  3. During the authorization process, Instagram returned:
    "Invalid Redirect URL".

  4. I found a community post describing the same issue and used the workaround of changing login_options[0]=IG to login_options[0]=FB in the Meta authorization URL.

  5. After doing that, I was able to complete the Meta Business authorization successfully.

The good news:

  • The "Say Hi to New Followers" feature became available.

  • Instagram is connected.

  • ManyChat appears in Meta Business connected apps.

  • Instagram messaging permissions are granted.

  • Instagram comments permissions are granted.

The bad news:
After reconnecting, ALL Instagram automation triggers stopped working.

Current behavior:

  • Comment Automations do not trigger.

  • DM Keyword Automations do not trigger.

  • Follow to DM Automations do not trigger.

  • Execution count remains 0.

  • Brand new automations also do not trigger.

  • Tested with multiple Instagram accounts that never interacted before.

  • Tested on both Feed posts and Reels.

  • No posts are boosted.

  • No collaboration posts.

  • No errors shown inside ManyChat.

Important observation:

  • New Instagram contacts ARE being created inside ManyChat.

  • I can see new contacts appearing in Contacts.

  • This suggests the Instagram connection is partially working.

What I've already tried:

  • Refresh permissions.

  • Reconnect Instagram.

  • Create new automations from scratch.

  • Republish automations.

  • Test with different accounts.

  • Verify Meta Business permissions.

  • Verify ManyChat is connected in Meta Business Settings.

Has anyone experienced a situation where:

  • Contacts are still being created,

  • But ALL automation triggers stop firing after reconnecting Instagram through the new Meta Business authorization flow?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Solved — sharing what fixed it in case it helps someone else.

In my case, the issue was not a ManyChat outage and not the automation setup itself.

I found that in Meta Business Settings → Conversation Routing, my Instagram account was routed to another app (Clint) instead of ManyChat. Because of that, my Instagram automations were not firing correctly.

What I did:

  1. Went to Meta Business Settings → Conversation Routing.

  2. Changed the default routing app from Clint to ManyChat.

  3. Verified that ManyChat had the required conversation permissions.

  4. Refreshed the connection.

After that:

  • Comment-to-DM automations started working again.

  • New Follower automations started working again.

  • Contacts were receiving DMs normally.

One thing that may have helped identify the issue was that I had multiple apps connected to the Instagram account (ManyChat, Clint and MLabs). If you're experiencing similar symptoms, check whether another app has control of conversations before rebuilding your automations.

Thanks everyone for the suggestions.

Two things, because this might not be on your end at all. First, a lot of people are reporting the exact same thing right now, triggers dead but contacts still creating, no errors. Check status.manychat.com for a platform-wide issue before you keep redoing your connection, because if it's systemic, no amount of reconnecting fixes it until they do

Second, if it is tied to your reconnect: ManyChat's own troubleshooting says connecting an Instagram account through a new or changed Facebook Business Page makes automations stop firing, and that case specifically has to be fixed by their support team reconnecting the account, not by refreshing permissions yourself. Your workaround pushed you through the Facebook login path, so that may be exactly the situation you're in. I'd open a support ticket and ask them to reconnect it properly instead of relying on the URL edit.

Hi @evandromazuco , I am glad all features are working for you now. Good tip on how to change routing app. Always be sure Manychat is the primary reciver.
