Hello guys! I’m using a Reel comment to DM automation feature of Manychat. I use this funnel to redirect my leads to WhatsApp and continue with the conversation.

I’ve noticed lately that people who are using iOS are not redirected to WhatsApp.

Since the link is opened in instagram’s browser, it asks the users to download the app instead.

Any idea how do we go about handling this issue? This is causing lot of drop-offs for me :(

Hi, @Dharmik!

Had the same problem long ago and I found a URL Shortener with “Deplinking” option.

I use https://switchy.io/ (they even have a lifetime offer: https://appsumo.com/products/switchy/) and recommend it fot that and much more.

Appreciate your response @Fabio Gaulke. I tried this but unfortunately it’s telling me that deep linking is not supported for this link. Any idea how to navigate through this?

This is the message I’m getting

That's strange… I have a redirection exactly like that and can activate Deep Linking.
Try saving the redirections first, then edit it and activate the Deep Linking…

Hi, I’m new to many chat and my intention is to use it exactly as Dhramick describes above, and I’m also having the same problem.

Manychat send the auto response message including a link to join a whatsapp group, but when the recipient clicks the whatsapp group link it says they need to download whatsapp???

Any help appreciated. Thank you Diana

Hi, @Diana Page,

As I've told Dhramick, using a service with “Deep linking” functions resolved it in my case. Apparently, it is something with how the mobile browser handles those links. I never found something that I could say “THAT'S IT!”… cause it is somehow random (sometimes it worked and sometimes not - using the same device).

And this is not exclusively from Manychat's links/buttons. In some cases, the same occurred with links to groups/chats in emails and buttons in webpages.
