Issue Connecting Facebook & Instagram Profiles to ManyChat

Hello,

I’m having a persistent issue reconnecting my Facebook and Instagram accounts to my ManyChat workspace, and I’d like to ask for your assistance.

Here’s the situation in detail:

  • I have one main Facebook account that manages two Facebook Pages.

  • Each Page is connected to its own Instagram account.

  • Previously, all of these profiles were successfully connected to ManyChat — everything worked perfectly. ManyChat was responding to new user messages and automations via AI functions without any problems.

However, a few days ago, when I tried to run an ad campaign and connect a partner app to my Facebook Ads, ManyChat didn’t appear in the list of available partner integrations. I thought it might be an authorization issue, so I decided to reconnect everything as I did before.

Today, I followed all the standard steps, but it didn’t help.

According to the troubleshooting instructions from ManyChat, I also tried the following:

  • Completely disconnecting and reconnecting ManyChat to Facebook.

  • Using both automatic connection and manual API key connection options.

Unfortunately, the automatic connection fails on both profiles with the message “Something went wrong.”

Additionally, when I try to access the permissions/configuration section in Facebook to select all necessary assets for token generation, it says that I need to create a business portfolio (company portfolio). I did that, but during setup, Facebook displays the message that no Facebook or Instagram profiles were found that meet the usage requirements.

At this point, I’m unable to reconnect ManyChat to any of my Pages or Instagram profiles.

I can provide screenshots, access details (IDs of Pages/Instagram profiles), or any other necessary information to help you diagnose this.

I have the same issue my previously fb got disabled and now when I connect my new fb it says:

Can't connect this page due to an error!

 

Looks like you're logged in with another Facebook profile.

Please try to log out your Facebook account and try again.

My fear is I will loose all my templates, not sure if I update my fb will loose the templates. I wish there is an option to clone it to another fb or download my templates.

Currently, my account is not connecting properly, and I keep encountering errors. I have already connected it successfully through Meta Business Suite, so I’m not sure why this issue keeps occurring.

Could you please help me understand what might be causing this error?

This looks like a Meta permission/setup issue, not a normal ManyChat flow problem.

A few important things:

  1. Each ManyChat account can connect to only one Facebook Page
    So if you manage 2 Pages, each one needs its own ManyChat account.
  2. For Instagram, make sure the account is a Professional account before connecting.
  3. In ManyChat, use Refresh Permissions, and when Facebook opens, choose Edit previous settings and allow all needed access. ManyChat also says to try this in an incognito/private window if it keeps failing.
  4. If your Instagram is connected through Meta Business Suite, make sure ManyChat is the default app for Instagram conversation routing.
  5. If these Pages/IG accounts worked before and now both fail with “Something went wrong”, ManyChat says this usually needs Support if the normal reconnect steps do not fix it.

So the short answer is:

Check 3 things first:

  • one Page per ManyChat account
  • IG is Professional
  • refresh permissions + set ManyChat as default routing app

If all that is correct and it still fails, this is probably something ManyChat Support needs to fix on their side.
