Since the recent changes to Manychat I am unable to set up automations with buttons that go to Thrivecart links. I just get an error message stating that it is not a valid link …..

This is so frustrating especially considering in my field Thrivecart is one of the main forms of external links to get affiliate income / recognition.

The only way I can do this is to add the link in the text but that isn’t a great customer experience as they then have to copy and paste it anyway.

Any idea when this glitch will be addressed / fixed? Is there a different way for me to get the convent clickable links for my followers?

Hi, @Helenw!

That's odd… are these links in a “full URL” format? Like https://site.com/...

Manychat only allows links in this structure. If you let the “http” out or ad a space in your link or any other weird character, it may break and Manychat won't identify it as a valid link.

If it still doesn't work and you feel comfortable, send a link here and I can test it with one of my accounts. 😉

Hope this helps!

Thank you. I literally copy and paste it. The links work everywhere else so I’m completely stumped. I have tried checking for hidden spaces etc.

Sure! You can try this one https://sunflowercottagecrochet--madamestitch.thrivecart.com/road-trip-blanket-pattern-2025/684207edd7dae/

It's any thrivecart link I add. It comes up with a red error message saying it is invalid.

Hi, @Helenw!

Sorry for the long hiatus… I've missed your answer notification 🫣

From your screenshot I can see you're using the new Quick Automation templates. I've testes it here and got the same error with your link.

My guess would be that the link is too big to be accepted in that template. But only Manychat's support would be able to confirm that.

What you could do is creating an Automation using the Flow Builder and adding the steps manually:

Adding buttons with your link works this way.

🙌

EDIT: I've found the issue...
Your Thrivecart link has a “double hyphen” in it = https://sunflowercottagecrochet--madamestitch.thrivecart.com/road-trip-blanket-pattern-2025/684207edd7dae/

And this is the reason it isn't accepted. If you remove on hyphen, it lets you save (but it will break the link). 😅

I'd suggest opening a ticket to the support team. They will be able to deliver it to Manychat's Dev team and fix it in future updates.
