Manychat not connecting to feed after previously working

Manychat was connected and working with my Instagram creator account.  I switched it briefly to a business account, but switched it back. Refreshed manychat’s permissions, but now can’t get manychat to recognize the account and connect to it. I need to automate something asap. Can anyone help troubleshoot. I just made a new post on my main feed to test it but manychat still isn’t seeing it. When I look at the permissions on Manychat it still says the IG is a “ Business Portfolio” which it’s no longer . How to change that? Or maybe that’s not the issue on why manychat isn’t connecting and picking up new posts? I’m stumped.

Thank you.

@Sadie if Refreshing permissions is not working, you can go to Settings > Instagram in Manychat and try switching the connection to Meta (there are actually 3 ways to connect to IG).

If nothing works, you can try to disconnect and reconnect IG - just be careful here, if you do that you’ll lose your contacts.

And as a last resort, get in touch with support so they can help you.

Manychat is connected to my IG - I see my posts there - but it’s skipping over the carsole post that I want it to automate. I have refreshed permissions many times, lged out and back into both accounts, nothing working. Customer service is so slow and when he finally replies he’s not even addressing the specific issue!

How can I get this resolved?

Thank you for the reply! I did all of those things - refresed permissions, went into settings, I even disconnected and reconnected but nothing- it’s still skipping that one post I want to automate! It’s the strangest thing! Customer service has been awful as well- they are so slow to reply (it’s day 8 and still only a reply every few days) and when he does reply it’s like he hasn’t even read the email I sent to understand the issue fully. (Yes slightly frustrated:) Any other thoughts?

One side note- my IG is a creator account not a business one- and I’d like to keep it that way so I’m not sure I can connect via meta without changing it.

I haven’t used ManyChat for a year and want to start using it to automate my IG posts again.  Now, it won’t reconnect the recent feed.  I have refreshed permissions.  I had to have a chat with Claude and here is where we landed.  But I still can’t connect to my current IG posts.   Anyone have any clues?  Thanks.

  • Facebook and Instagram are correctly linked ✅
  • Instagram is a Professional account ✅
  • ManyChat shows as connected within ManyChat ✅
  • ManyChat does NOT appear in Instagram Apps and Websites ❌
  • ManyChat does NOT appear in Meta Business Suite connected apps ❌
  • Reconnection flow does not trigger any permissions request ❌
  • Refreshing permissions multiple times has not resolved it ❌

The reason the reconnect never asks you for permissions is a ghost authorization stuck on Meta's side. ManyChat still thinks it is connected, but Meta has dropped the actual grant, and refreshing inside ManyChat will not clear it. You have to remove it on Meta first so it can ask fresh.

It usually lives in more than one place, and most people only clear one:

- Personal Facebook profile, Settings, Business Integrations. Find ManyChat, hit View and edit, then Remove. This is the one that is usually hiding.
- Meta Business Settings, Integrations or Connected apps. Remove ManyChat there too.
- Instagram, Apps and websites, Active. Remove it if it shows.

Then on the Instagram account: Settings, Messages and story replies, Connected tools, make sure Allow access to messages is on.

Now go back to ManyChat, hit Refresh Permissions, and connect from scratch. This time Meta should actually pop the permission prompt, which means the grant is real again.

One extra for whoever switched between creator and business: flipping the account type can break the link between the Instagram account and the Facebook Page that ManyChat reads. After the reset, confirm the IG account is linked to the correct Page before reconnecting, or it will connect but still not see your feed.

If it is still ghosting after you clear all three spots, DM me and I will walk you through exactly where it hides. It is almost always the Business Integrations one.
