Question

ManyChat won't connect to my TikTok business account

I’ve got a TikTok business account, but trying to authenticate my TikTok account via manychat won’t work.

I’ve tried in two browsers (chrome and safari). I’ve tried signing into my TikTok using different methods (QR code, password, phone number). I’ve also tried logging out and logging back in.

All give the same error when trying to authenticate. Telling me to switch to a business account when it is a business account. It used to be a creator account then TikTok removed creator accounts and now only offer personal and business. I think that changed caused ManyChat’s integration to break.

After clicking Continue in the authentication popup, it always shows the business account popup as in the screenshots below. I click done, then nothing happens.

I’ve checked multiple times and can confirm my account is 100% a business account.

What is the solution here?

My feeling is that ManyChat development team needs to fix the TikTok integration.

For additional context, I am based in South Africa and this is the TikTok account I’m trying to connect:

Please advise.

Thank you!

Hey, @leonp!
Silly question, but have you tries to switch back to “personal account” and then again to “business account”? Maybe, due to your creator account issue, there could be some glitch at TikTok’s side…

If that doesn’t change anything, bet way would be opening a ticket to Manychat’s support team: How to get support from Manychat – Manychat Help

It does sound like an integration issue rather than a problem with your account, especially since you've already confirmed it's a Business Account and tested multiple browsers and login methods. Since the account was previously a Creator account, there may be a mismatch between TikTok's current account status and what ManyChat is detecting. I'd try Fabio's suggestion of switching to a Personal account and then back to Business. If that doesn't work, opening a support ticket is probably the next step, as this may require a fix from ManyChat's development team. It would also be helpful to know if other South African TikTok Business accounts are experiencing the same issue.

@Fabio Gaulke For some strange reason, TikTok won't allow me to switch back to a personal account so I can't even try this. I created a support ticket. Hopefully they can get back to me soon. Thank you.

The fact that TikTok is not letting you switch back to a personal account could be a sign that something is glitched on their side. It might be a good idea to reach out to TikTok support as well so they can verify if everything is correct with your account status. There is a chance something got stuck during their transition away from creator accounts, which might be preventing Manychat from recognizing it properly as a business profile.
