Question

"Message failed to send, please contact Manychat Support" — WhatsApp messages not sending despite everything connected correctly

Benas

Hi everyone,

My WhatsApp channel in Manychat is completely broken in both directions.

Setup details:
- WhatsApp Business account connected through Facebook Business Manager
- The WhatsApp account shows as properly connected in Manychat settings (status green)
- All invoices paid, nothing pending on billing
- Phone number is verified and active in Meta Business Manager
- The number works fine directly in Meta Business Suite

The problems:
1. SENDING: Every message to a client (live chat or automation) fails with:
"Message is failed to send, please contact Manychat Support"

2. RECEIVING: Incoming messages from clients do NOT appear in Manychat at all. Clients send messages on WhatsApp but nothing shows up in the inbox and no automation triggers.

Since BOTH directions are broken, it looks like the webhook/API connection between Meta and Manychat is dead, even though the UI shows "connected".

What I've already tried:
- Verified the connection status in Manychat (shows OK)
- Checked billing/invoices (all paid)
- Confirmed the number and WABA are active in Meta Business Manager

Questions:
1. Has anyone had this where the channel shows "connected" but both sending and receiving fail?
2. Is disconnecting and reconnecting the WhatsApp channel safe? Will I lose my flows, contacts, and conversation history?
3. Could a webhook subscription issue on Meta's side cause this, and how do I check/reset it?

I've opened a support ticket but still waiting. Any guidance appreciated.

Thanks!

Hey @Benas Meta is currently down. This is most likely what’s affecting your account.

You can check the status here: https://status.manychat.com/

Once it’s back to normal, please try again to see if the issue persists.
