New follower DMs not sending

Hi ​@BWestern, two things to check first, since a single DM never going out usually points to setup:

1. Make sure the automation is actually live, not saved as a draft.
2. Check how Instagram is connected in Settings → Instagram. Follow to DM only works if the account is connected via Meta, so if it says Connect via Instagram, that's likely it.

If both of those look right, there's an open issue affecting Follow to DM that's been identified as a Meta-side bug, so it may not be on your end at all. You can follow it here:

While that's active I wouldn't rebuild the automation.

I have the same problem. Mine is live. And when I go to settings, I cannot tell which way my instagram is connected to manychat. Where would I see this please?

Hi ​@creativebloomclub, it's in Settings → Instagram. But if your Follow to DM automation is already live, your connection is probably fine, because ManyChat asks you to reconnect via Meta before letting you set it up.

So two things I'd look at:

1. Who you're testing with. People who are already contacts (they messaged you before or went through a Comment to DM) don't get the Follow to DM message by design. Also Meta only allows one Follow to DM message per user per week.
2. The issue I mentioned above is still open on the status page as a Meta-side bug: https://status.manychat.com/

If you're testing with brand new followers and still nothing, it's most likely that issue.
