We are having issues on couple of our client’s accounts where new follower message if not sending. We have tried the usual fixes, like refreshing your IG permissions but they don’t work. One client also reported that when he tried to refresh his permissions, it would just open the IG inside of the pop-up window, instead of presenting buttons to confirm the permissions
We have also found other bugs with the New follower automation as well, such as if someone quickly follows, unfollows, and then follows again, they will start the automation twice, even thought it should be only one time thing per lead, if I’m not mistaken

Manychat tech team just release that the are officially some “Delays and Failures in FTDM automation on IG”. They are working to solve it.

I cancelled it purely because of this. It’s the feature that got me to sign up.
I did just sign up for a trial to see if it is fixed but obviously not.
They just fob you off saying it is Meta’s problem. If it doesn’t work then don’t keep posting it on Instagram ads as a benefit.
Have you found any decent alternatives?
I assume it has to do with Manus , meta's new Ai. They will probably provide this service soon .
At the minute I m trying to get Comments on my post with lead magnet . Manychat is working this way and it creates new conversations.
I have not found any other alternative sadly . 😬

I tried creating a new flow from scratch but i cant see the trigger option of “say hi to new followers”

It’s been a global thing, I have been on to support and the guy is super helpful, not that it helps. It’s a problem with them connecting with Meta apparently. it does frustrate me that isn’t being advertised still

when I first created the manyhcat account the automation did work fine for about 3weeks. After that it degraded massively and stopped working at all. I created a support ticket and got a status update link which I subscribed too.

I talked to some other manychat users and some report the automation is still running. Kinda frustrating because this automation was the main reason I choose manychat.
Did somebody managed to get it running again? Like it stopped working and then you reconnected, resubscribed or smth else and it did work again?

Honestly for me it is still hit or miss depending on the account. On some accounts it works perfectly, on some it doesn’t at all
On some of my client’s accounts it is not working at all, and what i noticed is that all those clients are EU based. Is there maybe something going on there with the regulations, where it does not work for EU based pages?

Who can use it
| Note: The Follow to DM automation is currently in beta, which means it is not available to all Manychat accounts yet. Access to this feature is not connected to your Manychat plan. Eligibility for this automation is determined by Meta, not Manychat. Because of this, some accounts may see the automation available in their workspace while others may not. If your account is not eligible, a pop-up message will appear indicating that the automation cannot be used. Meta reviews account eligibility on a weekly basis. Once your account becomes eligible, the automation will automatically become available in your workspace without any additional action required. |
The Follow to DM automation beta is currently available only for Manychat accounts connected to Instagram via the new Unified Instagram onboarding flow.

According to Manychat Follow to DM on IG guide, “The Follow to DM automation triggers only once per follower. If someone unfollows and then follows again, it won’t run a second time”
