New IG account but same Manychat account

I set up MC with my old IG account. I’ve since changed the name of the IG account, but it is the same profile. MC wouldn’t let me sign in but still said I had an active account and had to sign in. So I used FB to sign in, and selected the account (that is now the new business name), but on my MC dashboard, it still shows the old account photo and profile info, and not the new one I selected during the steps of signing in with FB. But it won’t let me create a new account, bc if I use Google to do so, it says it recognizes me and I have to sign in. So, I’m in a stalemate. Any ideas?

This is a known ManyChat issue when you change your IG account name. The fix is to refresh your Instagram permissions.

Two ways to do it:

1. Click the Help button at the bottom of your ManyChat workspace, then click "Refresh permissions" and select Instagram as the channel.

2. Or go to Settings > Instagram > scroll down to "Refresh Instagram Permissions"

If that doesn't work, try this:

  - Log out of both ManyChat AND Instagram/Facebook completely

  - Log back into Facebook first, then ManyChat

  - Run the Refresh Permissions again

If you're still stuck, you might need to reset Facebook's Business Integrations:

  - Go to Facebook > Settings > Business Integrations

  - Find ManyChat and click "View and edit"

  - Toggle off all options

  - Go back to ManyChat and refresh permissions again

This should pull in your new account name and profile photo.

Hi ​@dolcelucita  this can happen when you change your Instagram account name - I am having the same challenge!. The solution is to refresh your Instagram permissions in Manychat.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Click the Help button at the bottom of your Manychat workspace
  2. Select Refresh permissions
  3. Choose Instagram as the channel to update
  4. Follow the prompts in the Instagram window
  5. You'll see a confirmation banner when it's complete

This should sync your updated Instagram account info with Manychat and display your new profile photo and details correctly.

If it still doesn't work, try logging out of both Manychat and Instagram, then log back in and repeat the refresh permissions process.
