Hi,
This happens because of Meta's 24h rule.
It works like this:
- The contact send you a message (or interacts with a automation reply) = A 24h window opens
- During this 24h window you can chat with your contacts normally
- If your contact doesn't respond or interact with you in 24h, the window closes
- To send any message outside the 24h windows, you must usa a Message Template (it must be approved by Meta and has a cost to send)
