I have tried connecting my Facebook accounts (Business pages) to ManyChat. And I’m trying to post reels on FACEBOOK (not instagram). 

I’d like to have people comment on the Facebook reels and have an automation trigger. 

I have tried the “DM automation” trigger and also the “Facebook messenger” trigger and neither are working at all. Many chat doesn’t even see that there are comments. 

 

Any suggestions?

    Facebook comment automation itself definitely works, I've seen accounts running hundreds of comment-to-DMs off Facebook posts, so "the tool doesn't even see the comments" usually points to the connection rather than a dead end.

    A couple of things that cause exactly this:
    - The Page has to be reconnected with comment/messaging permissions actually granted. If it was connected before those were approved, it can silently miss comment events. Try disconnecting and reconnecting the Page and re-granting everything.
    - Confirm the automation is published and the message is marked as a Comment Reply.
    - Test on a normal Facebook video or feed post first, not the Reel. If comments fire there but not on the Reel, you've isolated it to the Reel format, which can be flakier for comment delivery. If nothing fires anywhere, it's the Page connection.

    That last test tells you in five minutes whether it's a Reel-specific quirk or a connection issue.
