2 questions: if a person who comments on FB post has set high privacy settings for their messenger account - will they receive an automated message instantly or do they have to grant permission for contact first?
I modified the existing automation - I activated the public auto-response in Feed button in but it seems it doesn’t work - no auto-response is visible as replies to comments. Why?

The public auto-response only works for the first comment made by each user, and only for comments posted after the trigger was activated. It won’t work retrospectively.
Also check that you’re testing with a personal Facebook profile, on an original post from your Business Page, and not with the Page itself. Country or age restrictions on the Page can also prevent the trigger from working.
