Question about removing manychat as a partner

Context:
On my manychat it says credit line is not shared, i need to solve that problem to run broadcasts on my whatsapp business.
To solve that it says y have to create a new waba and connect manychat to it but to do that i have to remove my number from my current waba to connect it to the new one, but to remove the number from the current waba i have to remove manychat as a partner first.
The problem is that when i am about to remove manychat as a partner it says “You may not have access to send messages until Apr 1, 2026. Learn more about migrating to another partner.” Im really scared that i wont be able to send or receive messages through my whatsapp business app on my phone.
I always used the coexistence method so im not sure if it would actually not let me send messages from my whatsapp business app on my phone

If i remove manychat access and then disconnect the number from the current waba and connect the number and manychat to the new waba will I still be able to send and receive messages through my whatsapp business app on my phone? or would i have to wait until apr 1?

Hey @Candelaria, this depends entirely on Meta and there isn’t much we can do to control it.

Knowing this, no one in this community will be able to give you a 100% firm yes or no answer, not even Manychat support.

Now, from my experience from doing this procedure a few times, I can tell you:

  1. I never saw a message similar to what you’re seeing now - this is the first time I’m seeing it. So I’m guessing this maybe a new warning from Meta, that wasn’t there before.
  2. Every time I did it, we were able to reconnect the account immediately/within a couple of minutes.
  3. Every time I did, I was scared as hell.
  4. While we were doing it, we always had access to WABA, we never lost that.

My suggestion for you is that before you do it, prepare for the worst-case scenario.

If you lose access to everything until April 1st, what do you need to do to continue doing business?

Make a list of it so you’re ready to act in case it happens.

You probably have to make a list of everyone you’re talking to, you need a backup number so you can contact these people you may need to redirect traffic from your page or social media to a new number, you may need to stop ads, etc.

Once you have the complete scenario, go ahead and do it.

Now, if I had to bet, I’d bet that it’ll probably reconnect quickly and you will not lose access to WABA at any point in time.

And you won’t need to use your worst-case-scenario plan.

But, I can’t ensure you… Meta may be creating new restrictions and rules and your account is in the list.

So better to be safe than sorry,

Hope this helps ;)

@Gustavo Boregio Thanks for answering me, I appreciate it!!!
I understand, do you think when it says “You may not have access to send messages until Apr 1, 2026. Learn more about migrating to another partner.” it refers to: not being able to send messages only through manychat or it refers to my whatsapp business account in general like on all the devices like i wont even be able to send messages through my phone where i have my number and original whatsapp business app

I would really appreciate your information! I have an event coming up and i need to be able to send messages before april 1, but i also need to inform everyone about my event through broadcasts, so its quite a situation going on lol

Thank you!

@Candelaria I think it means through services like Manychat, and that the Business App would not be affected and continue to work as usual.

I appreciate you sharing your opinion @Gustavo Boregio , I think the same, but its too risky for now. I have to be sure before i remove manychat as a partner and connecting it to the new waba. Do you know anyone who could help me?

Thank you!

@Candelaria Mark Zuckerberg… But he left me alone in the Metaverse, so not sure how to reach him right now… 🤣

Joking aside, you can try talking to Manychat support, although I don’t think they’ll be able to give you a 100% sure answer. This depends on Meta, not Manychat…

My suggestion is that you wait until it’s a ‘quiet time’ for the business (in other words, some time when you’re not running any launches or big events), and do it then.

Most likely, you’ll have it all sorted within a few minutes.

But if you do encounter problems, it’s a bit less critical for the business.

Hahaha I’ll send Mark a dm. Yeah I guess thats the plan for now, wait till the event is over and then do it to avoid risks.
Thanks G
