Recurring Notification Functionality

Meta are moving to a new version of recurring noticications, starting in Jan 2026, called ‘Marketing Messages’. For all pages established prior to September, you can continue to use the recurrent noticiation functionaility as normal for the time being, but for new accounts you cannot.

On my new facebook page/manychat subscription, i can still send the recurring noticiation opt in request, and people can opt in as they could before, i just cannot send recurring noticiation messages.

Does anyone know whether the new ‘marketing messages’ will use the same opt ins as the current recurring noticiations use? or will it be a seperate integration all together? I dont know whether i should continue to get opt ins from users so i can contact them in January if the integration is similar… or if its not worth doing this if the opt in process/api will be different/not transferrable.

If anyone, or manychat, have some clarity on this it would be greatly appreciated

Hey, @Max112233

Recurring Notification will be deprecated on Jan. 2026. After that, all partners, including Manychat, should use the new Marketing Messages on Messenger API.

With the new API, Marketing messages don’t be available on these countries:

Maybe Manychat already changed to the new API, and now you can’t use them, if you live in one of the restricted countries.

Let me know if you have further questions. 🙂

Thanks for the reply. The reason i cannot use the recurring notification is my page was created after the cut off date. The question im asking is whether the marketing messages opt in will be using the same opt ins as the current recurring notifications?

Since i can get users to opt in to recurring notifications, but cant use them right now, should i continue to try and get opts ins? It all depends on whether the API/opt in process is the same, hense to origional question!

Hey @Max112233

Short answer, yes! You can use the same opt-in process for this new API.

However, if you are in one of the countries excluded and Meta doesn’t change that, you won’t be able to send marketing messages even after Jan. 2026.

Hi there,

I have a question about the Messenger Platform updates.

Meta is rolling out Utility Message Templates for Messenger (similar to WhatsApp templates), and this feature is already available in Vietnam (my region) as a Beta.

Currently, ManyChat only supports the old Message Tags (Confirmed Event, Post Purchase...). Do you have an ETA on when ManyChat will support Utility Templates and the new Marketing Messages native integration for Messenger?

I need this information to plan for the upcoming Meta policy changes in 2026. Thanks!
