I was facing the same issue with Follow-to-DM automation. I was in contact with the customer support team, but they closed my ticket without providing a solution.

Hello ​ ​@josesanchez    I am sorry to hear it stop working 😕. As you might know this is a new feature, so I think Meta is checking on this issues. However I recommend you to contact Manychat support team through the Help Center  https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us  to see if they can help you.

In addition, remember first to “Refresh Permissions” to refresh  conection between IG and Manychat. You can find a here a guide on how to do it https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281464342684-Refresh-permissions

Hi ​@cata_rendon thank you for responding. Unfortunately Refreshing Permissions does nothing. Support is unresponsive..

I’ve also tried refreshing permissions but I did not solve the problem. However "Auto-DM links from comments" is working fine just "Say Hi to New Followers" automation is not working.

It’s not working for me as well…

I have done all the steps mentioned by support bot but it didn’t work.

Refreshed the permissions still didn’t work.

Yep….Same for me.  Support has been wildly unhelpful and the new follower message does not work.  I have done everything recommended to fix it as well.  Would be nice to have a customer service line to call to help you trouble shoot.

hi ​@josesanchez  Please also take into account there are two main reasons FTDM may not trigger:

1. Meta 1 per week limitations: Meta allows only one Follow to DM message per user per week. If a person follows multiple accounts using this feature, they’ll receive a message only from the first account they followed. This rule helps keep the experience safe and free from spam.
2. The follower is already a contact. If someone has messaged a creator before—via an automation (like Comment to DM) or a manual DM—they become a contact. Existing contacts don’t receive FTDM messages by design to avoid awkward or confusing experiences. For example, if someone engages with a comment to DM automation, and then follows the creator, receiving both automations would feel strange.

1. I’ve had 800 new followers in the past 3 days. Not one of them has received the message (I checked). 
2. The conversations with these new followers are empty.

Seems I’m not the only one with this problem. Can you please escalate this?

Hi ​@josesanchez I am an MC user - like you - and I am part of the community so I am not a Manychat employee,  but as a Community Moderator I already let Manychat team to know you guys are all facing this issue and they are already checking 👍. However would be good if you rise a helping ticket directly. 

By the way congrats on getting 800 new followers in just 3 days! I am sure your community will benefit from your DM as soon as the issue is solved.

I’d be raising my third ticket by now. I suppose the only option is to cancel and wait for it to be solved. Gracias de todas maneras Cata.

atleast they should say something abou this issue so that we can wait and check or else we will be confused and will be in a dillemna that it’s working or not shall I off the automation or not.

Just seconding all of this. Just wrote a long post myself.

Same Issue am facing, and i have already planned to make this feature useful for my Insta Page, but unfortunatly it doesn’t work…, i have refreshed my permissions several times, comment-to-DM works fine, but follower feature doesn’t work, am already runing XXX$ dailly ads campaigns and getting hundreds of followers dailly, but all useless because can’t make them possible client, which i planned to..

please dear community moderator send this reply with this issue from the community to the tech backend team.

what annoys me, is that the feature works for some people and doesn’t work for some, i see some accounts works for them…ask them how? they answer it’s manychat and works fine 😞

I’m having the same issue and tried all the troubleshooting steps. I’m testing this app as a trial and this is already not working, not a good first impression.

I continue to get the "Update Permissions" popup that does nothing. I have refreshed permissions at the bottom left multiple times and same issue exists. It "appears" to have all appropriate permissions as is. This is the sole reason that I signed up for the service and will be my reason for cancelation if not fixed very soon!!!

Since recently, I cannot even see the feature “Say hi to new followers” any longer in my Manychat overview. Does anyone have the same issue? To me it seems they have deactivated this functionality. Or I am just blind….

I am having the same issue. Other automations work fine, but say hi to new followers is not triggering despite many attempts at troubleshooting. 

Anyone here solve it yet?

I’m also having the same problem, also made the refreshing things and new login. Somebody here, where it works?
