Sending WhatsApp Templates from Live Chat

You can’t send the template itself.

1º Create the automation where you’re going to use the template:

2º Choose the “outside 24-hour window” option, then click on “Choose message template” and don’t add any trigger.

3º After selecting your template, rename your automation (e.g.: Template - working hours).

4º On the live chat, click on automations and select the automation that contains the template you want

Regarding your question about creating a template and how it looks like:

1º Go to settings → choose the WhatsApp channel → Message templates → + New template

2º Choose the internal template name, category and the template language

Then, add a header with text, image, video or file.
Write the message and at the right you’ll see you it looks like on WhatsApp.

The information isn't outdated. The option to select a Template Should appear if you have an active WhatsApp Channel:

Once you have a open conversation window, the icon should appear next to the automation starter:

But if that option doesn't appear, using the “automation option” is the way.

Yes, it’s exactly what im looking for! Could you please attach screenshots with steps to send the template? Like i described in original message.

Once you create a template and got it approved…

• If it doesn't have any variable (Custom Field), you can easily use the template button on new or past 24h windows chats:

• If it has custom fields…

  

  Best way is to create an automation with a Tag as trigger, set the Custom Fields values with an Action Block and insert a message block with the Message Template.
  Then you can add the tag to a contact to start the automation and send the template.
• If you wish to send the template to multiple contacts, you can use a Broadcast using the same automation you already created: https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281461353756-Broadcasting-in-WhatsApp#:~:text=broadcast%20from%20scratch-,Broadcasting%20from%20an%20existing%20automation,-To%20do

It is a little complex in the beginning, but once you do it a couple of times, it gets easier 😉
