Sticky Partner Link: Number released from Facebook Business Suite but still "locked" to Manychat CoEx

Hi everyone,

I'm having a "ghost linking" issue after offboarding a number from Manychat CoEx. I'm trying to move this number to a new platform, but the new provider keeps returning an error: "Number is already linked to another partner (Manychat)."

The critical details:

  1. Dashboard Clean: The number has been completely deleted from the Manychat dashboard.
  2. Meta Business Suite Clean: I have already checked my WhatsApp Accounts > Partners section in the Meta Business Manager. There are 0 partners assigned to the WABA.
  3. The Loop: If I try to add the number back to Manychat, it works instantly. If I try any other system, it claims Manychat still "owns" the integration.

It seems like there is a backend registration between Manychat and Meta that wasn't fully severed when I deleted the channel.

My Question: Is there a way for Manychat support to manually "release" or "flush" the partner ID associated with this specific phone number? Or is there a hidden setting in the Meta developer/business portal that I might be missing to force-kill this legacy CoEx connection?

Has anyone else experienced this even after removing the partner from the Business Manager?

Hi, @dry!

That happens sometimes, even with other platforms. It's a Meta issue.

The best (and easiest) way I tested to solve that kind of issue is connecting the “ghostly connected” number to a Personal WhatsApp App (Justo don't do any kind of message/backup transfer - it will remais at the WhatsApp Business App).

This does some kind of “hard delete” to any kind of existent Business/WABA connection to it.

After that, you can just reconnect it to the same phone/WhatsApp Business App it was before (all messages will still be there).

Hope this helps!! 🙌
