I have a subscription lists, so for a new contact who subscribes to the list, how long am I allowed to message that new subscriber? Previously, when creating a subscription list, I saw that the duration was 6 months. But now, when I create a new one, I no longer see that time period

Hi @Ninh Vinbar , good news! You're no longer limited by that 6-month duration you used to see. Starting August 10, 2023 notification tokens no longer expire, this means once someone subscribes to your Messenger List, you can continue messaging them indefinitely (as long as they remain subscribed and don't opt out).

I love subscriptions list, they are really good for re marketing! I just recommend you  to segmented very well your data base so you can create the most value for your leads/customers.

Good Luck

I’d like to ask further. So does this mean that anyone who subscribed to my Messenger list before August 10, 2023 is still limited to the 6-month duration, while those who subscribed after that date are no longer restricted? I hope you can explain this in more detail.

Thank you!

Hi @Ninh Vinbar It is my understanding that after August 10, 2023:

  • All notification tokens no longer expire - this applies to both existing and new subscribers
  • No more automatic re-opt-in requests or opt-out reminders

So subscribers from before August 10, 2023 are supposed to benefit from the non-expiring tokens.

However take into consideration that there is now a limitation that you can only send one message every 48 hours per notification token, regardless of when someone subscribed.

This means all your Messenger List subscribers can receive messages indefinitely without needing to re-subscribe, as long as you follow the 48-hour spacing between broadcasts.

Hope this clarifies,

Cheers
