I tried the DM new follower automation and now NONE of my automations work! I've already tried refreshing the permissions, and still nothing. I removed ManyChat permissions from my Instagram, then tried to reconnect. From the business.facebook.com side it looks like it's connected, I can see ManyChat there, but if I go to my Instagram account, ManyChat isn't listed in the permissions. I've submitted a support ticket for ManyChat support, but still haven't heard back. NONE of my automations work right now so I’m having to manually reply to everyone and I’m in the middle of a launch! Can anyone help please?

The key detail in your post is the answer: "business.facebook.com shows it connected, but on my Instagram account ManyChat isn't listed in the permissions." Those are two different connections, and the Instagram one is what actually matters. Your automations run off the Instagram-level authorization, not the business-side one. So if ManyChat isn't showing in your Instagram account's permissions, nothing can send, which is exactly why all of them died at once and not just the new follower one.

This usually happens after you remove and re-add permissions: the reconnect finishes on the Facebook/business side, but the Instagram authorization never fully completes, so you're left half-connected.

To fix it, clear both sides and reconnect clean:

1. Remove ManyChat from BOTH places so there's no stale half-connection: on business.facebook.com, and on Instagram itself (Instagram settings > Apps and websites, remove it there too).

2. On Instagram, make sure "Allow access to messages" is ON (Settings > Messages and story replies > Connected Tools).

3. Reconnect from scratch, and when the Instagram permission screen comes up, approve everything, don't deselect any of the boxes.

Then the real test: go back to your Instagram account's permissions and confirm ManyChat is now listed there. If it is, your automations come back. If it still isn't showing on the Instagram side, the connection didn't actually complete, no matter what the business side says.

Since you're mid-launch and stuck, happy to walk you through it if you want to DM me. I've untangled this exact business-side-vs-Instagram-side split before.

Hey, @rakaiel

The “Say Hi to New Followers” automation requires the new Instagram connection.

Please check if “Allow access to messages” is enabled under Instagram’s Connected Tools and reconnect the account using the new Instagram connection inside Manychat.

You can also follow these steps:
https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281308423452-Instagram-automation-troubleshooting

If none of the Instagram events are reaching Manychat after reconnecting, you’ll need to wait for support to check the connection on their side.
