Trigger automation when conversation is closed

Hi 
 

Is there any built-in trigger or contact/conversation event that fires when a WhatsApp conversation is marked as “Closed” in the Inbox?
 

My goal is:
- When an agent clicks “Mark as Closed”
- Automatically reset custom user fields (language, menu_choice, session fields)
- So the next message always starts from language selection
 

Currently, I don’t see any trigger like “Conversation status changed to closed”.
Is the only workaround using Tags, or is there a native solution I’m missing?

Hi, ​@salahdiab!

 

Unfortunately, there isn't such trigger.

What you could do is create a Tag trigger and set this tag to the contact once you finish the conversation.

 

This automation could even mark your conversation as closed. This way you don't need to add the trigger AND close the conversation manually.

It would look as simples as this:

  • Tag Trigger (I've used a tag called TEST_TAG)
  • Action step:
    • Clears your custom user fields
    • Marks conversation as closed
    • Removes your trigger tag (sou you can use it again with the same contact in the future)
