Hi,

I hope you’re all well. I’m writing from Guayaquil, Ecuador.

Recently, I connected my company’s Instagram account to the ManyChat platform to automate messages. Since then, I have been unable to add captions to any posts, reels, or collaborations. The caption field simply doesn’t allow me to edit with an error message.

After noticing the problem, I took the following steps:

  • Removed the ManyChat connection from Instagram.

  • Deleted the ManyChat integration and permissions from Facebook/Meta Business Suite.

  • Tried posting from multiple devices (iPhone, Android, and computer).

  • Contacted Meta support and verified that no applications are currently connected to the Instagram account.

Despite all this, the issue persists, and I still cannot add captions to any type of post.

Could you please help me resolve this? I would greatly appreciate any assistance or guidance you can provide.

That's odd… Manychat shouldn't have any kind of access to block captions or any type of creation feature in Instagram. It seems more like some sad coincidence… 

What does the error message say?

 

Also, check your IG Account Status (IG App/ Settings/ Account Status). It shows if your account has been limited by Meta for any reason.

And try getting in contact with Meta's support. They will be able to investigate further.

 

And you can always open a ticket to Manychat's support team, but I have the feeling that they aren't able to help much in this case…

Thank you for your answer.  Instagram said in spanish “Se produjo un error. Vuelve a intentarlo”  which means “An error occurred. Please try again.” 

Meta couldn’t help me that much because the problem is only connected to Instagram aso they have send me support mails which I have send an email earlier. But I know that my problem won’t be solved fast with just mails.

Never saw such issue before. Hope IG Support finds a solution for you! 🙏
 

PS: you wrote that you tried to post in different devices, but have you tried to uninstall and reinstall IG?


Yes I have uninstalled Instagram on my IPhone and still the same, because even when I post from Meta, Instagram delete automatically the caption. Do you know how long take Instagram to answer to mails or reports from the application please?

I also thought to pass my account from professional to personnal and then back to professional but I don’t want to do that right now because I have posts with ads and I don’t want to lose them either. Maybe you can help me on this one ?
