Hi everyone,
I really hope someone can help me quickly – this is urgent.

I’m using ManyChat with Instagram and I’ve set up a comment trigger to send a lead magnet. Everything worked perfectly until yesterday. Now, users still receive the first message after commenting, but the button they are supposed to click (to confirm and receive the lead magnet) is either:

  • not showing at all

  • or showing but not clickable

As a result, users can’t opt in and don’t get the link to my lead magnet anymore. This is a major problem because my funnel relies on this automation.

Here’s what I’ve already done:

  • Reconnected Instagram in the ManyChat settings

  • Checked all permissions in Facebook Business Integrations – everything is granted

  • Rebuilt the flow to test different button types (standard, URL, even quick replies)

  • Set up keyword-based fallbacks (e.g. user types "YES") – but still, buttons are often not displayed

  • Tested with different accounts and devices

  • Checked Flow Logs – no clear error message

  • Contacted ManyChat support (no response yet – it's urgent)

I know about Meta’s limitations with external links and 24h rules – but the problem is happening even within the allowed 24h window and even if the user has interacted before.

Is this a known bug with Instagram/ManyChat right now?
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Are there any workarounds that are actually working right now?

I would appreciate any help, feedback or confirmation. This issue is currently blocking my funnel and costing me leads.

Thanks in advance,
Flora

Hi Flora

If it is urgent maybe you should contact Manychat support. I am pretty new to manychat and noticed that it behaves strangely sometimes, especially with regards to buttons. Buttons did not show up or they were not clickable. I’ve heard that those problems did not happen on Instagram mobile, only desktop. See here:

But since it was working for you before your case must be different. I wish there would be more clarity on this. Hope you will get help. Please report back if you like.

Hi Flora

Were you able to solve your problem? What was the issue? I sent an email to Support on Friday and they replied really quickly. They confirmed to me that buttons are unreliable on Instagram Desktop:

“Unfortunately, due to API limitations, some features are not available on the desktop version of Instagram. Certain options, like Quick Replies, are only supported in the mobile app.

This behavior is known by both Meta’s team and ours, and it is currently expected by design. As such, we don’t anticipate a resolution in the near future.

Buttons usually don't work on desktops, but some do. Their behavior is unpredictable. They may work for one user, and for another, they don't. These two functions work best on mobile. “

Hopefully you found a solution!

Hi ,

Thanks for your reply!

Unfortunately, the issue is not related to the desktop version – it also occurs on mobile.
At the moment, no buttons are being displayed and no links are being delivered on my end.

The problem is still not resolved, and I’ve already contacted support about it.

Best regards,
Flora

Hi

Sorry to hear that. While you are waiting for support to respond, could you change your automation so that it works without the buttons, e.g.  by adding a delay and sending another message and possibly adding the link to your ressource without a button?
