URGENT: Instagram sending messages via API broken

Since about 1 hour messages via API no longer send with existing parameters. Nothing was changed and suddenly it’s breaking.

We are not using message tags and the type is Instagram, not Facebook. Something must be broken here on ManyChat’s side.

Please let us know how to fix this asap. Thank you!

ManyChat support resolved this 2 hours after I posted the thread. It was entirely an issue on their side.

Hi @omnifusion , this might be related to Meta´s deprecation of Message Tags feature on Messenger. Even if you are using IG, probably this is temporally affecting this channel. (See conversation below)

My suggestion is to opening a ticket to Manychat's Support Team to see if they have more details about it: How to get support from Manychat – Manychat Help

Hope this helps to understand what is going on.

Cheers!

Hi,

We experienced something similar recently, and in our case, the issue turned out to be related to how the API request payload was being processed after a backend update. You may want to double-check recent API changes, webhook logs, and permission scopes, as silent updates can sometimes cause sudden failures like this.

Also, using external debugging and execution tools such as arceus executor helped us test API calls, validate parameters, and quickly isolate where the issue was occurring. This made troubleshooting much faster.

Hopefully, ManyChat addresses this quickly, but in the meantime, testing your requests externally may help identify the root cause.
