WhatsApp messages not sent via sendFlow – Account status “Pending”

Hi everyone,

I’m having an issue with sending WhatsApp messages via the ManyChat API and I’d appreciate some guidance.

Here’s the situation:

  • Incoming WhatsApp messages are received correctly in ManyChat.

  • The message is successfully sent to n8n via an External Request.

  • n8n processes the message correctly and returns a response.

  • The HTTP request to set custom fields in ManyChat works fine (I’ve confirmed the fields are being updated).

  • However, the reply message is not sent back to the user, even when using a fixed text message in the flow (no variables).

I’ve tested:

  • sendFlow with a very simple WhatsApp flow

  • A fixed message (no dynamic content)

  • Correct subscriber_id and flow_ns

  • Correct API headers and API key

Everything seems correctly configured, but the message is still not delivered.

In the WhatsApp settings panel (see screenshots), my account status is shown as “Pending”.

My questions are:

  1. Could the “Pending” account status be preventing WhatsApp messages from being sent via automations / API?

  2. Is this a normal situation for new accounts?

  3. Is there any way to speed up the activation process?

The account was created 6 days ago, and I’m wondering if I just need to wait longer or if there’s something else I should do.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi @Andrés Zarzo , Si!, a "Pending" account status can definitely prevent WhatsApp messages from being sent via automation/API. This is totally normal for new accounts - your WhatsApp Business Account needs to be fully approved before you can send automated messages.🙃

Be sure before you use your whatsapp account, you have the following setting up:

- Your business verification must be "Verified"

- Account status needs to be "Approved" (not Pending)

- Your credit line needs to be properly shared with Manychat

The approval process can take some time, I think you need to send your business legal documentation.

You can check your status in Facebook Business Manager → Settings → WhatsApp Accounts. If verification hasn't started, click "Start verification" to speed things up.

Also, remember is better to connect a new WhatsApp phone number purchased from Manychat.  You can find a guide on how to do it in here : https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/16816162800668-How-to-connect-a-new-number-purchased-from-Manychat-to-WhatsApp

Cheers!
