WhatsApp messages received in Meta are higher than contacts/conversations recorded in ManyChat

Hi team,

I have ManyChat connected to WhatsApp Cloud API and I’m running Click-to-WhatsApp ads from Facebook/Meta.

Here’s the issue:

  • Meta Ads Manager reports 134 conversations started.
  • WhatsApp Manager shows 163 messages received.
  • However, ManyChat only shows around 70 contacts/conversations.

Important notes:

  • The WhatsApp number is correctly connected to ManyChat.
  • Ads are properly linked to the correct flows.
  • Meta only counts conversations when users actually send a message, so this is not a click issue.
  • WhatsApp confirms the messages were received.
  • This suggests ManyChat is not capturing all incoming WhatsApp messages.

Could you please help me verify:

  1. If all incoming webhook events are being received by ManyChat.
  2. If there could be a webhook conflict or missing subscription.
  3. If there is any known issue with WhatsApp Cloud API message syncing.

    Usually, there is some discrepancy in the results, but in your case, there is a big gap between Meta and Manychat.
    My advice to you is to contact the Manychat support team so they can look into your account.
