In this new model, our plans, including the free plan, are based on "Active Contacts" - real people who you've actually interacted with (via a message or an automations) during a monthly billing period. We only count (and bill) those people who you’ve engaged with in a monthly billing period. Once your billing period has ended, we are going to reset your counter of Active Contacts to zero - this means you are not accumulating contacts over time, instead paying only for those people you've interacted with in the most recent period.
This means that, in the previous pricing, once you reach the 1000 contacts limit, you'd necessarily have to upgrade your account to Pro in order to continue using the free features. In the new model, active contacts are refreshed monthly when the billing cycle ends.We hope this is clear and answers your questions.
