Be able to get a URL for an audio sent by the user, in the Default Reply and for User Inputs.

@Manychat Community Please, can you give us a Christmas present by paying attention to this topic?

agree…..

Hello @Raquel C @Marina

Is there any news on this idea?

Honestly, we really need to have this function on the WhatsApp channel.

It is one of the most used channels between Instagram and Messenger.

This works in Messenger on Instagram, but not in Telegram.

Could you give us an estimated time in which this function will be applied in Manychat?

If you need to pay some additional value in the subscription, no problem, the important thing is to have the function. Please!

Yes, it is important

Poder obtener una URL para un audio enviado por el usuario, en la Respuesta predeterminada y para las entradas del usuario.

Be able to get a URL for an audio sent by the user, in the Default Reply and for User Inputs.

Sí, lo necesitamos, por favor

Any new on this? It is veeery important!!

waiting URL in channel whatsapp  :-)

We need to know the type of the last_user_reply. Be it text, image or audio, this is a very important feature.

For the audio/image we would need to url to be public in order to download the data externally.

This is a must for all our clients, and we even considered switching to other platforms that have this already.

Could you give us an estimated time in which this function will be applied in Manychat?

Thanks.

you can’t send audio nor picture via api, you can’t receive the audio, total wasted.

Goodbye ManyChat, I Lost a Client Because of This!

I’m really frustrated with an absurd limitation in ManyChat: WhatsApp voice messages cannot be handled.

Nowadays, voice messages are essential on WhatsApp. Not all users want or can type, and the fact that such an advanced platform can’t even receive and process audio messages is unacceptable.

Seriously, I'm not going to stay on a platform that is becoming a thing of the past. Goodbye, ManyChat.

Exactly the same here. User sends images and audio. And the WhatsApp API es giving Manychat all the information, but they probably don´t want to save on storage. Very sad to see how Manychat is only focusing on “events” and “cheap marketing” instead on improving the product.

@Germán Rupérez What other service are you evaluating / migrating to? thanks!!

Martin.

I am evaluating Chatrace, I don´t understand that manychat is imposing such limitation on us, not enabling ourselves to use all the power of nocode and AI available today… The worse thing is not getting answer here in the forum with almost 100 upvotes…

We are too limited by the lack of this feature. I hope the devs understand that we are losing customers and users due to the absence of such a basic function. The solution is to look for an alternative to ManyChat.

This idea was opened 11 months ago. I don´t understand why is this not being solved and why we don´t receive any update? This does not seems like a big development and it is already working fine on Instagram.

Maybe is it more important to launch new things that are not actually useful but serves to do cheap marketing than actually building a great product??

Hope @Raquel C @manychat could give us an idea.

UP

Guys, I haven’t seen if this was already announced, but Manychat is now placing the image or audio link into the variable you choose, like "last_text_input" on WhatsApp!

Test it out because it’s working here — it no longer ignores it if it’s an audio/image, and instead of going to the last typed text, it now saves the link in the variable!

Finally!!!

Hello, @henriquearsenio

What do you mean, can you explain better?

How do I add the last file entry "link" to some variable?

Because it only gives the option of the last text entry.

If you could explain how you are doing it, it would be of great help.

You can leave it as it is. When you set it up to fill a variable with "last_text_entry" and send an audio or image, it will fill that variable with the corresponding link to the audio or image 🙏🏻

Hello, @henriquearsenio

What! I tested it here and it really is receiving the link, both audio, image, and gif... Sensational.
Now all that's missing is a response from a reaction that it doesn't have yet.
But it was already a big step forward.

Yeap I got it running with AI already…
Magic! 😊

@Heric Yeah, unfortunately reactions are still an issue and Manychat just ignores them. When someone sends a reaction, it really confuses my OpenAI assistant. I hope they fix that soon... Should we open a ticket for that here too?

@Gustavo Boregio what do u think about it?

Yeap sure open the idea here!
I’m happy to have images and audios now tbh!
I can live with not having reactions, and I have logic and rules to avoid double triggers when the person reacts (it’s a bunch of logic checking previous and current message contents and avoiding double triggers to the AI).

Just added a video on how this is working in WhatsApp (in Spanish for now, English version coming soon):
