WhatsApp just changed their pricing. And if you use WhatsApp as a business, you are going to pay a lot more. Starting from October 1, you need to pay for every message that you send.

So I will show you what changed, how much you're going to pay, and what you can do about it.

And there is one exception where WhatsApp stays completely free. I will show you what that is later in this video.

You can watch it here:

Hello @Joren Wouters first of all, nice video! Just a few clarifications from my side because there are relevant updates that Meta recently announced. We’re finalizing the global communication about these new charges, all Manychat customers with WhatsApp connected should expect to receive an email from us with all the info in the coming days  and we will also post a message here in the community right thereafter!

1) each calendar month (from October 1st), the first 1000 service messages will be free, irrespective of the destination country. The unused amount won’t roll over to the following month.
2) not directly related to service messages but somehow connected: Meta will extend the current 72-hour free entry point window to 7 days in the coming months (no official date yet but before the end of the year), so every outbound message will be completely free for a whole week! I’m particularly excited about this one because we were involved in feature experiment with Meta in the past months and we saw great results from the customers involved in the A/B test we run! Thanks to the extended window, I believe CTWA campaigns will become a really popular entry point (especially from IG) to nurture and convert leads in WhatsApp with great ROI/ROAS results.

Thanks for the clarification! Where can I find that the first 1000 service messages will be free?

About point 2 → That would be awesome if they do it!

@Joren Wouters it’s in the Meta developer website: https://developers.facebook.com/documentation/business-messaging/whatsapp/pricing#service-rates-effective-october-1-2026
They updated it yesterday :-)
