Hi Everyone & ManyChat Team,

Has anyone else been struggling with activating a Default Reply flow in the updated ManyChat interface?

Here is the exact issue:

  1. In Automation > My Automations, my WhatsApp Default Reply flow is listed as STOPPED.
  2. When I click the three-dot (...) action menu next to this flow, options like Rename, Duplicate, Convert Channels, Move, Share, Delete are listed, but THERE IS NO "SET LIVE" BUTTON!
  3. Inside the flow editor, the Publish/Set Live button is disabled (Saved), so there is no direct way to set the flow from STOPPED to LIVE.

Why is turning ON a system flow made so complicated or counter-intuitive? Why do we have to duplicate or rebuild flows just to toggle them from STOPPED to LIVE?

What is the official/correct way to turn a STOPPED Default Reply back to LIVE in this new UI without hacking it by duplicating? Would appreciate any insights or UI fixes from the team!

Thanks!

Hi, I have the exact same issue in the new ManyChat dashboard UI! My WhatsApp Default Reply flow is stuck on 'STOPPED' in My Automations, and there is no 'Set Live' button in the 3-dot menu or inside the editor. How can we switch a STOPPED flow back to LIVE without duplicating it?

Hi @levent güneş

This issue happens because system automations like the Default Reply are controlled directly through the channel settings or the trigger toggle itself, rather than the standard "Set Live" flow button.

Here is how you can try to re-enable and switch it back to LIVE:

  1. Via Channel Settings: Go to Settings → WhatsApp → Default Reply. From there, make sure the Default Reply option is enabled/selected. Toggling it back on or selecting your automation here should activate it.

  2. Via the Flow Builder: Open your Default Reply flow and click on the Starting Step/ Trigger element. Look at the configuration panel on the bottom corner, there is a toggle switch to activate or enable the Default Reply trigger itself. Once the trigger is toggled on, save/publish your changes.

If you try these steps and the flow remains stuck on STOPPED, it might be a UI glitch on your account. In that case, it will be necessary to open a ticket with Manychat's support team: https://help.manychat.com/hc/en-us/articles/14281086345244-How-to-get-support-from-Manychat

Hope this helps!
