I’m not seeing a “Story Mentions Trigger” as an option. The only trigger for stories is “User replies to your story”.

Maybe that option used to exist but has been removed for some reason?

Hey @gigamesh yes, Manychat has been renaming some stuff.

“User replies to your story” is the one you’re looking for ;)

I’m sorry but I don’t think that’s correct. Replying to a story is much different than sharing a reel as a story to their own feed. I need something that can boost virality. Story replies does not do that.

If you go to Settings > Instagram you’ll see the ‘Story Mention Reply’ option.

This is what we used on the case study.

So, if the user creates a story on their IG (has to be a story, not a reel), AND they mention your account, then you can trigger this automation.

Hey @Gustavo Boregio is it possible to limit this automation to only the first time someone mentions my account? I don’t want to spam people who already saw the message.

You can tag whoever got the message, and before sending it you add a condition that checks if the person has the tag or not.

How do I add a condition before the message is sent? Based on the builder, it looks like its only possible to add a condition as a next step after the first message.

Fully agree on this! Just contacted the support on this… I have maybe 1 person tagging me every 2 days while more than 500 mention me by sharing a reel every single day.

Than would be an amazing outreach to people who are showing they love our content!

Any traction on this?

I’m trying to build an automation for a contest/give away.
By having a trigger for a post/reel shared to someone’s story, it would really help engagement on said post by incentivizing people to share it so their audience sees it as well.

Currently, the only story mention trigger possible is if they directly tag with @ 

The Instagram story mention reply trigger will only activate if the mention begins with "@".  

Same issue here! It would be really helpful to have this feature work for the reposted content. We spend too much time thanking people manually!

I would love this feature as well! Because for my case too, I get a lot of post reshares and it would be great to put an automation on that.
