ManyChat currently counts people who send normal Instagram DMs, reply to Stories, or interact with the account, even if they never trigger or use a ManyChat automation.
I only use ManyChat for two specific comment automations (when someone comments “KEYWORD”). However, family members and friends who simply DM me normally can still become contacts and use my contact allowance.
This feels unfair because I am paying for automation, not for ordinary Instagram conversations.
Suggested solution: Add an “Automation-only contacts” option, where only people who trigger or interact with a ManyChat automation count toward the contact limit.
Users who only have normal Instagram conversations should not consume their ManyChat contact allowance.
This would make contact limits much fairer and more predictable, especially for creators who only use ManyChat for a few specific automations.
